Submissions open: September 17 (announced at The Listening Room: Songs & Stories concert at Triumph Brewery)​​

End of submission date: October 15th

Recipients announced: November 12 at The Listening Room: Songs & Stories concert at Triumph Brewery

Submitting artist requirements:

  • Must be between ages 16 and 30 years old by November 12th, 2025 

  • Must be a resident of Monmouth County

  • Must not be employed by RiverJAM Music or have a direct relative who is employed by RiverJAM Music

  • Must not be signed to a recording/publishing label

  • Must agree to allow RiverJAM to use your name, photographs, and any artifacts developed through the sponsorship program for marketing and visibility purposes.

  • Must commit to participate in the writing and recording sessions required to complete the song within three months of award (typically 2-3 hours/week for 4-6 weeks)

Evaluation criteria:

Artists will be selected by RiverJAM mentors and leaders based on quality of the submitted examples, ability to collaborate, demonstrated passion for music and songwriting, work ethic, and overall level of commitment.

Evaluation process:

  • Artists submit their applications between September 17th and October 31st.

  • RiverJAM judges will review submissions and narrow selections to a set of finalists by October 31st

  • RiverJAM mentors will conduct interviews with finalists (via phone or in-person) between Oct. 31st and Nov. 11th

  • Sponsorship awards will be announced on November 12th


To apply for this sponsorship, submit the following documents by October 15th:

  • REQUIRED: Completed application form (completed online or downloaded from here)

  • REQUIRED: At least 3 examples of work - including written song lyrics/poems, personal recordings, audio/videos recordings of performances, or other content that can help us understand your style, experience, and passion. These can be sent via email or as links where we can view/download the content. You will retain full ownership of all materials sent - RiverJAM will not use the submissions for any purpose other than judging for these sponsorships.

  • REQUIRED: A short, written essay (up to 500 words) explaining why you are pursuing this sponsorship, including why you enjoy writing songs, who has influenced your passion for music, what type of music you enjoy, and thoughts on your future plans with music.

  • (optional) Links to Social Media accounts where you have content published

  • (optional) Letter of recommendation from someone (parent, teacher, mentor, friend) who can speak to your musical involvement, community service, character, and dedication.

ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 11:59PM EASTERN TIME ON OCTOBER 15, 2025
